Thanks to Google and my curious nature I found Judith's generous posting of the recipe. Now I and a friend have the facts we need to prepare for St. Patrick's Day 2011!
> http://www.ivanhoe.com/channels/p_channelstory.cfm?&storyid=26469MARY ELIZABETHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09680664939663485825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-364354541942598813.post-20676169028664630142009-03-21T15:05:00.000-04:002009-03-21T15:05:00.000-04:00I made this to celebrate the Irish holiday with fr...I made this to celebrate the Irish holiday with friends. It was surprisingly easy to make. This was my first experience with making homemade dumplings of any sort, and I was sure they wouldn't turn out right...but they did! I love that this recipe can be made ahead of time, as I started it in the morning and I let it heat up again in the oven just before serving it. I waited to do the dumplings until this point because I wanted them to be fresh.
It was a hit with our guests and perfect for any night of the year!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03042324698045347860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-364354541942598813.post-61970535244543132442009-03-18T11:43:00.000-04:002009-03-18T11:43:00.000-04:00Wonderfully comforting food! Wasn't sure how much Guinness to drink in the process, but a bottle or two seemed appropriate.

Since there were only two of us, I cut the amount of meat in half and made only half the dumplings. The amount was right, but I learned a bit that I'll put into practice next time. When cutting the meat amount in half, do NOT cut the rest of the recipe in half. Use a 12 oz bottle of Guinness and leave the other quantities as per the recipe. Check the tenderness of the meat and the thickness of the gravy at about 1.5 hours. I left mine untouched for the full two hours and it was a bit much for the smaller amount of meat.

This is a recipe I'll definitely have again - and I won't wait until March 13, 2010.UG_AChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13841191099911872437noreply@blogger.com
